Two musicians have teamed up to create a beautiful album of African flavoured World Music, "MUSIC 4 WATER". The band is called "PENDRAGON HALL" and is made up of members David Pendragon, Bill Hall and Friends. Why? Because this is how we intend to raise the funds to start this project. We aim at raising the funds to create the first African Well or Water Supply System within 6 months! So we had better get cracking. We have just heard back from a fantastic organization called WaterAid, based in UK, USA and Australia. They are very happy to distribute the funds to currently running projects in Africa and we will get regular updates on progress!! Every time someone pays EIGHT DOLLARS to download this great music album 75% of that will be donated to an African aid organisation that deals with the funding of well digging and clean water supply systems in Africa. If it can be achieved, we hope to be able to direct our fundraising at a specific project or projects so we can give you regular updates on progress. We have established that the organization most skilled in these areas is a wonderful group called WaterAid. They are able to do all the things we need for all this to succeed, all we need now is the funds! The only other thing we ask of you is that you pass this site address onto 3 [or more] of your friends and that you request that they pass it on to 3 of their friends...... If you could just remember that this album took the artists several HUNDRED hours to create, could you take a few minutes to help this work and fulfill a dream? We thank you. Q. Does all the money raised go to Africa. A. No, 75% of the money raised from the sale of downloads is sent to WaterAid [Aust] 25% of the money raised is used to cover the maintenance of the website and Internet provider costs. Any remaining amount , after these costs are deducted , will be used to develop new fundraising music/video products. The group that will co-ordinate this aspect of the operation is called " Music 4 Power " and is managed by David Pendragon. "Music 4 Power" is a "not for profit" group and is based in Canberra Australia. Q. How do I know that the money will do what is intended. A. Here is a link to WaterAid's site and a page that outlines how they work and the concept of Non Government Organizations as "partners" WaterAid SITE Q. Can I buy a CD physical "hard copy" of the "Water 4 Music" album. A. At this time it is not possible to purchase a "hard copy" of the album due to the costs involved in the manufacture and shipping of them. A CD quality download file will soon be made available and people with fast broadband and reasonable computer skills will be able to download and create their own "hard copies" [including artwork] Meanwhile please feel free to transfer your paid download onto a CD, if you want to make multiple copies, all we ask is that you pay another $8 fee for each copy. They would make lovely gifts for your friends and also "spread the word" Q. I do not have a Paypal account or I am not comfortable using my credit card on the internet,but I want to support this cause. What can I do? A. Due to there having been a little confusion about "physical" hard copy availability of the Music 4 Water album, we have created a letter that simplifies the process of sending the idea on to your friends. It is VERY important that you ONLY sending the letter on to people who are your contacts, we do not want to seen as general "spam" More news after Xmas! Here is the letter for forwarding on: JUST CUT AND PASTE ONTO YOUR EMAIL: Dear friend, Two Australian musicians David Pendragon and Bill Hall have created a way to help build wells and generate clean water supplies in villages in Africa; they have created the Music 4 Water project. The project website is set up so that people can DOWNLOAD an entire album of African flavoured music for only US$8.00! This is an album of high quality music that took over one year to complete. The funds raised will be administered by a world wide group called WaterAid and will go to the Non Government Organizations currently working in the villages themselves. We will be able to watch and monitor the building projects as they happen. The situation in Africa really is desperate..... a child dies from unsafe water related illness every 15 seconds!  We are asking you to have a look at the website and to have a free listen if you wish, then if you can, please pay for a download of the album. We are also asking you to "pass this on" to 3 friends or more, telling them about the project. We only need 1000 visitors to buy an album download and we can start digging! The downloads come in two forms, one as 160 kbps files for quicker download (very good quality) and the other as 320kbps files (for the best quality playback) to make your OWN CD including the artwork.
